Christine A. Funkhouser

Christine joined Global Tax Management, Inc. (GTM) in December 2001. In her role as director, she is responsible for serving clients of the firm’s Federal Tax Group with services including ASC 740 assistance and tax compliance. Christine primarily works with clients in the financial services and manufacturing industries, and specializes in the taxation of financial institutions. In addition, she is a member of GTM’s Section 199 team and takes the lead on 199 engagements.

With over 12 years of experience in taxation, Christine is continually focused on helping improve the success of both GTM and her clients. Throughout her career, she has assisted over 40 banks with tax planning, provision and compliance, and effective rate management services.

Beyond her client service duties, Christine maintains a leadership role and oversees staff hiring and scheduling in the Philadelphia area. Most recently, Christine helped streamline GTM’s scheduling process to maximize the utilization of staff and assign the appropriate level of staff for client engagements. She also helped alter the firm’s hiring model to develop and build GTM’s staff and seniors.

Prior to joining GTM, Christine spent 7 years in the corporate tax department of “Big 4” accounting firm, KPMG. There she was responsible for providing tax provision and compliance services to financial institutions in the Philadelphia area.

Christine was inspired to pursue an accounting career after taking an accounting class during her senior year of high school. Shortly thereafter, she took an after-school job at a small accounting firm. Christine often utilizes her extensive background in taxation by serving as a guest speaker for the Financial Managers Society (FMS).

Christine was raised in the Philadelphia area and now resides in Broomall, Pennsylvania with her husband. In her free time, she enjoys traveling.
