Joe is the founding member and managing director of Global Tax Management, Inc. (GTM). In his role, he guides the firm’s strategy and day-to-day operations, and works toward the overall growth and profitability of the firm. Joe also has a concentration on the firm’s ultimate goal of evolving GTM into a regional firm with specialties in tax, technology and risk management.
Joe has over 33 years of experience in the tax services arena, with specific specialization in tax accounting, and mergers and acquisitions for large public corporations. During his career, he has experience with a broad range of technical tax issues and has helped clients to: reduce the time required to perform state audits through the use of technology; minimize the exposure of material weaknesses through tax accounting; and minimize federal, state and international taxes through tax planning, including the set-up of new structures and policies.
Prior to founding GTM in 1995, Joe served as tax director for a Fortune 500 Company where he worked for eight years. He also spent eight years as senior tax manager at accounting firm, Main Hurdman, which later merged to become “Big Four” international firm, KPMG.
Joe attributes his success to the equal amount of care he provides to the needs of his clients and employees. Though client service and success is the primary focus of GTM, he understands there must be an environment within the firm that enables his staff to provide the highest quality services possible. Joe also makes sure to provide care for himself, as he recognizes the importance of his own professional and personal development to be an effective firm leader.
Joe was raised in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania and currently resides in Marple with his wife. Together they have four children. In his free time, Joe enjoys playing golf.
